Modified Pool Season

Our clubhouse pool will be opening for the season starting on Monday, June 1. A number of changes are necessary in light of the COVID-19 outbreak and its resulting state mandates. Anyone who has a fever, a cough or other symptoms of illness; or who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 14 days; or who has come into contact with someone who has tested positive in the previous 14 days is not permitted in the pool area.

With the state having just entered Phase 2 of the lifting of statewide restrictions, here are the requirements and suggestions under which this season will operate:

— The swimming pool will be open each day from 10:00 AM until 8:30 PM.
— The maximum occupancy inside the pool gate is mandated at 35 persons, with no more than 10 in the pool at any one time.
— No non-resident guests will be permitted in the pool area. To be clear, immediate family members who are visiting and staying at your house are permitted to use the pool per Springs regulations and these restrictions.
— The chairs normally positioned around the pool will be placed in storage. If you want to have a place to sit while visiting the pool, bring your own chair.
— Individuals inside the pool gate are asked to observe 6-foot social distancing separation guidelines. Family members can of course remain together inside the 6-foot area. All individuals will be expected to wear face masks when not in the water.
— We ask that meals not be brought to the pool area. The hope is that visits can be limited to 90 minutes or so for each person, so that more people can enjoy the pool, especially on weekends or other high-volume days.
— High-touch areas (doorknobs, the gate, etc.) in the pool area and adjacent restrooms will be sanitized each morning. Pool visitors are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer and/or disinfectant wipes. Paper towels and sanitizing spray will be provided near the pool and inside the restrooms.
— We ask that restroom visits be confined to one person, or family unit, at a time. Please use the disinfectant spray before and after your use to help limit coronavirus exposure. In addition, the water fountains in the restroom area will be turned off, and one of the two sinks in each bathroom will be barricaded.
— Any personal items, such as chairs, towels, pool toys or other things, left at the pool as of closing time will be thrown away.
— Social distancing is impossible inside the hot tub, so it will remain closed for the season.
— If anyone wishing to visit the pool area is uncomfortable with the conditions and concerned over possible viral contamination, please leave. As we have no lifeguard or attendant on duty, it is up to you to decide what is safe and what isn’t.
— Signs will be posted at the clubhouse to remind us of the regulations.

HOA board members and other volunteers will periodically check the pool area each day for compliance with these regulations. If those in attendance are found to be in violation, the board will take necessary steps to rectify the situation, up to and including closing the pool for the remainder of the season. We know The Springs community to be one filled with reasonable and responsible people, however, and expect no problems.
